What are payment methods?
Payment methods are options that customers use to pay for their purchases in your online store during checkout. These methods allow you to accept payments securely and efficiently, ensuring customers can complete their orders.
Why are payment methods important?
Having at least one payment method is crucial to start receiving payments for your goods. Without a payment method, your store cannot be published. Offering multiple payment options during checkout can significantly increase sales as customers are more likely to complete their purchases using their preferred method. BoxCommerce supports various payment options such as mobile money, credit card payments, EFT and cryptocurrency.
Please note:
- Payment processing fees differ per provider.
- Review these fees via the "Pricing and details" link when setting up each payment method.
How to set up a payment method
1. Navigate: From your home screen, tap “Store”, then tap “Payment”. Finally, tap “Payment methods” to locate a payment provider to enable. Toggle the “Off” switch to “On.”
2. Activate: Once you’ve toggled the switch to “On”, you’ll be asked to complete your payment account details. Once you’ve completed all the details, acknowledge the transaction fee by ticking the checkbox agreeing to BoxCommerce’s 1% transaction fee. Tap “SUBMIT” once all the information has been completed.
You are now required to complete the following information:
- Client ID: Enter the Client ID provided by the payment provider.
- Secret key: Input the Secret Key associated with your account.
- Bank account settlement ID: Add the bank account settlement ID where payments will be deposited.
