Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

1.1. The BoxCommerce R100 000-00 (one hundred-thousand rand) ZAR Merchant Competition ("Competition") is organised by BoxCommerce South Africa (Pty) Ltd ("the Promoter").
1.2. By participating in this Competition, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("T&Cs").
1.3. The Promoter reserves the right to amend or update these T&Cs at any time without prior notice.

2. Competition Period

2.1. The Competition commences on 1st April 2025 and concludes on 31st May 2026 ("Competition Period").
2.2. Entries received outside of this period will not be considered.

3. Eligibility

3.1. The Competition is open to 18 years or older and are registered merchants on the BoxCommerce platform.
3.2. The following persons are not eligible to participate:

3.2.1 Employees, directors, agents, resellers and partners of the Promoter and its affiliates.

3.2.2 Any individual or business found to be in breach of BoxCommerce’s User Policy.

3.3. Each participant must have an active BoxCommerce store during the Competition Period.

4. How to Enter

4.1. To qualify for entry into the R100 000-00 (one hundred-thousand rand) ZAR prize draw, merchants must complete the following steps between 1st April 2025 and 31st May 2026:

4.1.1 Follow BoxCommerce SA on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok:

4.1.1.1  Instagram     : BoxCommerce_SA

4.1.1.2  Facebook      : BoxCommerce SA

4.1.1.3  TikTok           : BoxCommerce_SA

4.1.2 Register and create your store on BoxCommerce.com and pay for a minimum of 2 months SaaS fees/ monthly subscription, (we have a 30-day free trial, which you are welcome to use).

4.1.3 Complete the Wizard, including; Adding a logo, store name, address, etc.

4.1.4 Sign up with Zapper (BoxCommerce’s chosen Payment's partner in South Africa) and connect it to your BoxCommerce store.

4.1.5 Upload all your intended products for sale to your store, including all Inventory details (variants, stock amounts, volumetrics).

4.1.5.1 Organise your product in categories.

4.1.5 Complete your website’s look and feel including:

4.1.5.1 Adding a complete “About” page. (This may already be complete from the Wizard set up)

4.1.5.1 Upload your store/ business logo (This may already be complete from the Wizard set up)

4.1.5.3 Add banner image/s (this is great for marketing your product)

4.1.5.4 At least one voucher offering using BoxCommerce’s voucher system.

4.1.6 Publish the store on BoxCommerce.

4.1.7 Connect a minimum of two social media platforms to the BoxCommerce store.

4.1.8 Publish at least five posts through the BoxCommerce platform.

4.1.9 Achieve a minimum of five sales OR total transactions value of R3,000 (whichever is greater).

4.2. Merchants who complete all the above steps are eligible and will automatically be entered into the Merchant competition to win the R100 000-00 (one hundred-thousand rand) ZAR with BoxCommerce.

5. Prize Details

5.1. Grand Prize: R100 000-00 (one hundred-thousand rand) ZAR

5.1.1 One winner will receive R100 000-00 (one hundred-thousand rand) ZAR in cash, paid via EFT to the bank account of the merchant’s choice.

5.1.1.1 In South Africa, gambling, prize and lotto winnings are generally not taxable as income.

5.1.1.2 However, the winner will be liable to and declare the cash prize to their bank.

5.1.1.3 and to give BoxCommerce South Africa (Pty) Ltd ("the Promoter") the correct banking details, any incorrect banking or bank issues, taxes, debts, or similar will be the liability of the winner.

5.1.2 The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for other goods or services.

6. Winner Selection & Notification

6.1. The R100 000-00 (one hundred-thousand rand) ZAR prize requires a minimum of 100 merchant entries.
6.2. The grand prize winner will be randomly drawn from all eligible entries within 14 days of the competition closing (31st May 2026).
6.3. Winners will be notified via email and/or phone and within seven (7) days of selection.
6.4. If a winner cannot be contacted within 14 days of the selection, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner.

7. General Conditions

7.1. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any participant found to be engaging in fraudulent or dishonest practices, including but not limited to:

7.1.1. Fake transactions or self-purchases to meet entry requirements.

7.1.2 Multiple same store entries by the same business entity. (Although multi-store entries are allowed).

7.2. The Promoter may amend, suspend, or terminate the Competition at any time due to unforeseen circumstances.
7.3. The Promoter’s decision regarding all matters related to the Competition is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

8. Data Protection & Privacy

8.1. Participants’ personal information will be processed in accordance with BoxCommerce’s Privacy Policy (accessible at BoxCommerce Privacy Policy).
8.2. By entering the Competition, participants consent to the collection and processing of their data for the purpose of administering the Competition and awarding prizes.
8.3. Winners consent to having their name and store featured in promotional material related to the Competition.

9. Liability & Indemnification

9.1. The Promoter, its affiliates, employees and agents shall not be liable for any loss or damage (direct, indirect, or consequential) suffered by any participant as a result of entering the Competition.
9.2. Participants indemnify and hold harmless the Promoter against any claims arising from participation, acceptance, or use of the prize.

10. Governing Law

10.1. These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
