What is a social media post?
A social media post is online content that you create to post on social media channels, which includes, text, videos or images.
The "Create a post" feature under the “Marketing” tab allows you to set up and manage social media posts directly from your BoxCommerce dashboard.
Why use social media posting?
Social media marketing is a powerful tool to grow your brand and reach customers. By using the "Create a post" feature, you can plan, schedule and publish posts across any social media platforms that you have connected to BoxCommerce, helping you engage effectively with your audience.
How to Create a Post (Mobile)
1. Navigate: Navigate to social posts by tapping “Marketing” from the home screen.

2. Marketing: To get started with creating a social media post, tap on “Social posts”.
3. Create social post: From the “Social posts” section, tap on “Create a post” to start crafting a new social media post.
4. Enter post details: Complete the following sections to create your post:
- Post to: Select the social media platform(s) where you want to share this post.
- Upload an image: Choose an image file (JPG/PNG) that meets the size requirements (minimum 300 x 300 pixels) to include in your post.
- Text: Enter the main content of your post. This will appear as the caption or description accompanying your image.
- URL: Add a link to direct customers to your website, product or relevant page.
Please note: By selecting the social media button at the top, you can see a live preview on the right-hand side that displays how your post will look.
5. Confirmation pop up: Once your post is ready, you will be prompted with a pop-up asking if you’d like to “Save as draft” or “Complete”. You can choose “Save as draft” to save the post for future editing or tap “Complete” to finalise and schedule your post.
6. Schedule a post: Choose your preferred timing for publishing your social media post. See the options below:
- Immediate: Publishes your post right away to the selected social media channel(s).

Schedule: Select a specific date and time for your post to be automatically published in the future.
- Date: Choose the exact date on which you want your post to be published.
- Time: Set the time for when your post will go live on the scheduled date.
Please note: Scheduling your post helps maximise visibility and engagement by reaching your audience at the best times.
