Adding a Category - Desktop

What is a product category?   

A product category organises the products in your online store by grouping similar products together. Categories make it easier for your customers to find what they're looking for. You can create categories from scratch or define them when adding a product.

Why organising products into categories is important? 

Organising your products into categories helps your customers quickly navigate your online store.

How to add a product category (Desktop)

1.  Navigate:  From your control panel, click on "Store", then select "Categories".

2.  Manage your categories:  In the "Manage your categories" screen, click the blue "Manage" button next to the category name to manage that category.

3.  Add a new category:    To add a new category, click the "Add category" blue button located in the top-right corner.

4.  Complete category details:   In the "Add Category" screen, fill in the details for your new category.  Once all the details are complete, click "SAVE" .

• Category name: Define the name of the category.
• Description: Provide a full description for the category.
• Set as subcategory: Select a parent category if this is a subcategory.
• Cover image: Upload a cover image.
