Managing Your Categories - Mobile

What is a category?

A product category is a division of products regarded as having particular shared characteristics.

Here is an example of a main category and its sub-categories:

FASHION (main category) and HEALTH & BEAUTY (main category)

• Men’s Fashion (sub-category)
  • Men’s hats
  • Men’s pants
  • Male Accessories

 

Why do you need categories?

Categories help organise your products, making it easier for your customers to navigate your online store. Customers may purchase more products while browsing through categories.

How to Manage Product Categories (Mobile)

1.  Access categories:  Navigate to "Store", then tap "Manage categories”.

2.  Select a product:  Browse through your products, then tap the grey pencil icon next to your product name to manage the category. This will open the edit options.  You can drag and drop in order of preference.

3.  Editing existing categories: You can edit your category details here, by completing the details below, then tap “UPDATE” to save your changes.

• Category name: Edit the name of the category.
• Category description: Edit the description for the category.
• Set as sub-category: Choose a parent category if this is a sub-category.
• Cover image: Change the cover image.

3.1  Set as sub-category:  You can choose a parent category then make this category a sub-category by selecting the desired category name.  

4.  Category updated:  Once you've made your changes, a green bar will appear at the bottom of the screen confirming that your updates have been successfully saved.
