What is delivery processing time?
The standard delivery processing time is the amount of time you need to prepare an order (including packaging) for collection.
Why is setting a delivery processing time important?
BoxCommerce uses your specified delivery processing time for all your products unless you set it differently per product.
We automatically display the order processing time at customer checkout, which builds transparency, helps manage customer expectations, reduces delivery enquiries and builds trust in your online store.
How to Manage Delivery Processing Time?
1. Navigate: From your home screen menu, tap “Store”, then "Processing time".
2. Set Standard processing time: Enter the following information to set your standard processing time:
Please note: If some products take longer to process than others, you can complete individual processing times per product.
2.1 Order processing days: select the days of the week on which your online store processes orders. From the drop down menu, select the days on which your online store processes orders. Options include:
- Entire Week
- Monday to Friday
- Monday to Saturday
2.2 Order processing time: Enter the average number of days required to process an order including packaging, for delivery collection.
3. Set delivery details: Toggle the switch to "Show" or "Hide" to control the visibility of delivery details. Enter a delivery message in the text editor to set customer delivery expectations. You can also view the "Delivery details example" section to see how customers will view these details under their products. Remember to tap "UPDATE" to save your information.
